Vineyards

On the water

Take to the waters in a hired kayak - a great way to get acquainted with the island's quiet bays and waterways. Alternatively try paddling a Black Waka, or go fishing - a great catch and a meal of freshly caught snapper is an added bonus while you are on holiday.

Exercise

Hire a mountain bike for the day and get some exercise while taking in the views. Get a copy of the Waiheke Island Walkways map and take a hike on one of the island's many stunning coastal walkways. Saturday Markets

Ostend's Saturday market is a great place to see the island's colourful characters and buy local food, produce and art.

Relax

Have a day at the beach or take your fish and chips to the quirky local movie theatre. At the end of the day relax with a glass of wine and choose from one of the many cafes or restaurants to spend your evening.
